WHEN TO COME TO ANTWERP
Antwerpians are addicted to the sun, and they do not even to wait for the summer. Once a few rays of sun hit the city, they drag out the furniture and put on ray-ban sunglasses.
Slowly sipping beer on a terrace while watching passers-by is thé most popular pastime in Antwerp and it is done as early as February. If it’s freezing, we’ll just sip quicker and wear an extra pair of socks. We even invented a special word for this hobby: “terrasseren”.
This goes on until the summer, with a growing number of outdoor festivals and open-air movies.
